Indonesia is of the view that the
elimination of nuclear weapons is our highest priority. The existence of
nuclear weapons poses great danger to the stability and security of all
mankind.
Geneva is home to disarmament. The Conference on Disarmament is the sole
multilateral disarmament negotiating body and provides substantive and
organizational support to a wide range of multilateral disarmament agreement.
The Conference on Disarmament (CD), established in 1979 as the single
multilateral disarmament negotiating forum of the international community, was
a result of the first Special Session on Disarmament of the United Nations
General Assembly held in 1978.
